Experience Rockland's Flourishing Food Scene

Rockland is growing as one of Maine’s most popular foodie destinations.

There are many wonderful dining options, including James Beard Foundation Award semifinalists and winners, available in and around Rockland, from fine dining to fabulous casual seafood places. The front desk staff will be very happy to help you make dinner reservations or offer suggestions for the many area dining options.

Buzzworthy Dining

Primo – Primo is a true “full circle kitchen”, and arguably our favorite farm to table restaurant found anywhere. Sourcing nearly all of their meats, cheeses, vegetables and other ingredients directly from their farm, the Primo experience is truly a unique one.

Cafe Miranda – Cafe Miranda is a cozy bistro with a very large menu of various ethnic tastes to please even the pickiest of eaters. Featuring a wood-fired oven and house made pasta, Cafe Miranda is a local gem.

Suzuki Sushi Bar – Suzuki is a small, but popular local sushi bar specializing in sushi and Japanese fare made largely with locally sourced seafood. Much of Suzuki’s menu is assembled from ingredients that are bountiful and often overlooked in Maine, but incredibly popular and hard to find in Japan.

Breakfast Spots

Home Kitchen Cafe – Winner of multiple “Best New England Breakfast” awards, Home Kitchen Cafe is the perfect blend of comfort food and Southwestern flavor & charm. Try the Lobster Tacos!

For Drinks and Libations

In Good Company – Offering an Old World atmosphere of unhurried dining, coupled with a compelling wine selection and full mark, you’ll love the ever-changing menu of light tapas to full entrees, utilizing locally produced cheeses, sausages, patés and wild-harvested seafood, mushrooms and greens.

Fog Bar – A New American Gastropub, Fog Bar is a perfect place to stop in for a beer and perfectly cooked burger. With a wide selection of beers from Maine and afar, creative cocktails, and fresh Maine ingredients, Fog Bar is a favorite among locals and tourists alike.

Myrtle Street Tavern – Myrtle Street Tavern is a historic gem, and Rockland’s oldest bar. A seafarer’s bar that welcomes locals, out of towners young and old, Myrtle Street Tavern is a perfect stop for those seeking a lively dive-bar experience.

Low Key Dinner

Archer’s On The Pier – Located directly on Rockland’s pristine waterfront, enjoy fresh seafood and local produce at Archer’s On The Pier as you watch ferries travel to and from Rockland’s port.

Sammy’s Deluxe – Sammy’s Deluxe is your traditional grandma-style home cooking serving the best of Maine, New England, and Americana dishes in a casual, cozy atmosphere with great beer.

Popular Lunch Spots

Main Street Market – Main Street Market is home to local meats, seafood, produce, dairy, jams, syrups, honeys, and more! Featuring a salad, juice, and smoothie bar & cafe, Main Street Market is among the best ‘healthy and fresh’ eateries in the Rockland area.
